How We Support Children

Our experienced SEND team works closely with children, families and professionals to identify needs early and provide tailored support. We adapt activities, environments and teaching approaches to ensure every child can access learning and feel confident, safe and included.

Our SEND Practice Includes:

• Individual support plans
• Close partnership with families
• Working with external professionals
• Adapted teaching and learning approaches
• Communication support using Makaton
• Early identification of additional needs

Communication & Inclusion

We use a range of communication approaches to support individual needs, including PECS, visual supports, daily visual timetables and adapted communication strategies. Our experienced staff tailor these methods to suit each child, helping them to understand routines, express themselves and feel confident within the setting.

Several staff members are trained in Makaton (up to Level 4), allowing us to support children who benefit from sign-supported communication.

Early Literacy & Learning Support

Our team are trained in Read Write Inc., supporting children’s early phonics, communication and reading confidence. Strategies are adapted to meet the needs of all learners, including children with SEND, helping children build strong foundations for future learning.

Working in Partnership

We believe the best outcomes happen when settings and families work together. Our SEND team work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to share information, plan support and ensure every child receives the right help at the right time.
